The short answer
Which Product Hunt alternatives are worth it?
PitchWall has a free launch after a 30-day wait and gave a followed product link in our check. Uneed has a free waiting line, but a free launch must reach 10 upvotes to stay up and 20 to keep its followed link. Below are all 23, with cost, approval difficulty and link type for each.
01Before you submit

When to use it: When a stranger can sign up and use the product without you on a call. Pick one main board for launch day and spread the others over the days around it, so you can answer the comments on each.
Product Hunt is free to launch on, and makers post their own products. Company accounts are not allowed, so launch from your personal maker account. Source: producthunt.com (opens in a new tab)
StartupBase free launches wait four to five weeks and need a badge on your site. Submit early enough that your slot lands in launch week. Source: startupbase.io (opens in a new tab)
Fazier's free Basic launch needs a badge that links back to Fazier. Decide whether you want that link on your site before you submit. Source: fazier.com (opens in a new tab)

How to work this list
Do first
01Product Hunt: choose your launch day first and launch from your own maker account. Every other board on this page fits around that day.
02Uneed: join the free waiting line early, or pay to skip it if the date matters. A free launch keeps its followed link only at 20 upvotes.
03Peerlist Launchpad: verify your profile and complete the project page, then launch on a Monday.
04PitchWall: submit at least 30 days out if you want the free launch to land in launch week.
05Fazier: take the free Basic launch if you accept the badge link back to Fazier. Product links were followed in our check.
Skip or defer
KillerStartups: it is now a general business publication, and the newest articles we saw were from April 2025.
Product Hunt Forums: there is nothing to submit. Use the forum on your own product page to talk about the launch.
10words for launch week: community sources describe a long free queue, so you cannot time it.
Any board or service that sells upvotes or a guaranteed ranking.
How to write the listing here
Write the maker comment before launch day. Say who you are, what the product does in one sentence, why you built it and what feedback you want. Keep the tagline under 60 characters, and open the gallery with a real screenshot of the main use case. On the day, answer every comment.
When in the sequence
Pre-launch boards and slot bookings (Uneed, Microlaunch, Fazier, Peerlist Launchpad) go in T-14 to T-8. The main launch on one board is T0. Show HN and the secondary boards follow in T+1 to T+3, never in the same hour as Product Hunt.
Yes, as one day in a longer plan. Launching is free, per Product Hunt's own launch guide. In our check, listing links carry rel ugc, which Google groups with nofollow, so the value is the people who visit and comment on the day.
PitchWall has a free launch after a 30-day wait and gave a followed product link in our check. Uneed has a free waiting line, but a free launch must reach 10 upvotes to stay up and 20 to keep its followed link. Peerlist Launchpad launches every Monday from a verified profile, and Show HN on Hacker News suits a tool people can try right away. Of the 23 on this page, 10 gave a followed link in our check, 7 were nofollow or ugc and 6 are not checked yet.
Yes. Stagger them: one main board on launch day and the rest over the days around it, so you can answer the comments on each. Rewrite the text for each platform instead of pasting the same post everywhere.
Of the 23 on this page, 9 are free, 11 have a free option with paid upgrades, 2 are paid only and 1 does not state a price. Free tiers often come with a wait or a badge: StartupBase free launches wait four to five weeks and need a badge on your site.
Product Hunt on launch day, then Show HN one to three days later, so you can give each thread your full attention. Show HN is for something people can try, and Hacker News asks you to make that possible without a signup where you can. If all you have is a waitlist, hold Show HN until people can use the product.
We do not publish visitor numbers we did not measure. The traffic column is our rating, from low to very high. The one outside figure we use comes from Leo Bosuener's Product Hunt guide on Lenny's Newsletter, which says an average B2B startup might get 50 to 300 signups on launch day and count that a success. Track referral visits from each board in your own analytics to see what yours sends.
