Marketplace platforms built for real transactions, not just listings

We build two-sided and multi-vendor marketplaces for founders who need vendor onboarding, split payments, and a real product, not a directory pretending to be a marketplace.

Multi-vendor marketplace platform built by WitsCode with seller dashboards

250+ projects shipped

Who this is for

If any of this sounds like you, we should talk.

  • You are launching a two-sided marketplace from scratch

You have validated demand on both sides and you need a real platform with vendor onboarding, listings, payments, and a buyer experience that closes. Not a no-code prototype.

  • You outgrew your no-code marketplace

You started on Sharetribe, Webflow, or a Shopify multi-vendor app. It got you to traction. Now you need custom logic, real payments, and a platform that does not break at scale.

  • You need split payments and commission management

You take a cut on every transaction. You need Stripe Connect or a similar setup to route funds, manage payouts, handle refunds, and stay compliant with tax and KYC.

  • You are building a niche or vertical marketplace

Generic marketplace builders do not fit your category. You need custom listing fields, search and filtering tuned for your vertical, and a buyer flow built for how your category actually transacts.

What changes for you

Outcomes you can point to, not features you can ignore.

  • A marketplace with real vendor onboarding, KYC, and self-service seller dashboards.
  • Split payments and commission management running on Stripe Connect or a comparable rail.
  • Search, filtering, and discovery tuned for your category, not a generic catalog.
  • Admin tools your ops team can actually use to manage disputes, payouts, and listings.
  • A platform you can grow from launch to thousands of vendors without a rebuild.

What is included

Scope, organized by phase.

Discovery (Phase 1 of 5)

Phase 1

Discovery

What we lock down in this phase before moving on.

  • Marketplace model and unit economics review
  • Vendor and buyer flow mapping
  • Payment, KYC, and tax requirements by region
  • Tech stack decision (Next.js, Rails, or your stack)
  • MVP scope and post-launch roadmap

How an engagement works

From hello to handoff, step by step.

  1. Discovery call

You walk us through the category, the supply, the demand, and the unit economics. We map the marketplace model end to end.

  2. Scoped proposal

Within 48 hours you get a written scope, stack recommendation, and a phased delivery plan. We separate MVP from nice-to-have.

  3. Design and architecture sprint

We design the vendor onboarding, buyer flow, and admin tooling. Stripe Connect (or equivalent) is wired into the architecture from day one.

  4. Build the MVP in two week sprints

You see vendor onboarding, listings, and the buyer flow stand up in a staging environment. Each sprint moves the marketplace closer to live transactions.

  5. Soft launch with real money

We onboard a controlled set of vendors, run real transactions, and tune the flows before opening to the public.

  6. Handoff and growth roadmap

Documentation, admin training, and a roadmap for category expansion, growth features, and the next 12 months.

SCRAPD marketplace seller dashboard built by WitsCode

Case study

SCRAPD

Problem
SCRAPD is an upcycled fashion marketplace connecting independent sellers with buyers who care about provenance. The founders needed a platform with real seller onboarding, secure split payments, and a buyer experience that did the products justice.
What we built
We built a custom marketplace on a modern stack with Stripe Connect for split payments, a seller dashboard for listings, order management, and payouts, plus a buyer-side search and filtering experience designed for one-of-a-kind inventory.
Result
SCRAPD launched with a fully transactional marketplace, onboarded vendors, and a buyer flow that supports the unique nature of upcycled, single-piece inventory.

Why us

What you get with WitsCode that you don't get elsewhere.

  • We have built the hard parts

Vendor onboarding, KYC, split payments, commission management, search, dispute handling, admin tooling. The pieces that kill marketplace builds. We have shipped them before and we have patterns that work.

  • Stripe Connect done right

Split payments, payout schedules, tax handling, refunds, chargebacks, KYC. Done wrong, this becomes an ongoing compliance headache. Done right, it just runs.

  • MVP scoped to ship, not to impress

We separate what you need to prove the model from what can wait. You launch faster, learn faster, and put capital into the features your real users ask for.

WitsCode rebuilt our Shopify store so it finally converts the traffic we were already getting. They understand speed and storytelling in equal measure, and the store has been a real growth lever since launch.
