Who this is for

If any of this sounds like you, we should talk.

  • You are leaving Magento, BigCommerce, or a custom build

The platform is costing too much, the maintenance is brutal, or your team cannot ship anymore. You are moving to Shopify or WooCommerce and you cannot afford a botched cutover.

  • You are moving between Shopify and WooCommerce

Either direction. You have a clear reason for the move and you need the products, customers, orders, and SEO transferred without a revenue dip.

  • Your last agency tried and failed

You started a migration, hit problems, and stopped. Half-migrated data, broken redirects, lost rankings. You need someone to finish what they started and stabilize what is live.

  • You are migrating to Shopify Plus

You outgrew standard Shopify or you are coming from a different platform onto Plus. You need scripts, checkout extensibility, B2B, and multi-store handled in the migration.

What changes for you

Outcomes you can point to, not features you can ignore.

  • A clean cutover with no extended downtime and no lost orders.
  • Product, customer, order, and content data migrated with integrity checks.
  • SEO rankings preserved through a complete 301 redirect map and structured data parity.
  • Customer accounts moved with password reset flows handled gracefully.
  • Documentation for your team so the new platform does not become a black box on day one.

What is included

Scope, organized by phase.

Discovery (Phase 1 of 5)

Phase 1

Discovery

What we lock down in this phase before moving on.

  • Audit of source platform (data, customizations, integrations)
  • Inventory of products, customers, orders, content, and URLs
  • SEO baseline (rankings, traffic, top pages)
  • Custom functionality mapping (what moves, what gets rebuilt)
  • Migration plan and downtime window agreed

How an engagement works

From hello to handoff, step by step.

  1. Discovery and audit

You walk us through the source platform, the customizations, and the data. We audit everything that needs to move and flag what is going to be tricky.

  2. Migration plan and proposal

Within 48 hours you get a written plan covering scope, data mapping, SEO strategy, cutover window, and rollback. No surprises mid-migration.

  3. Theme port or rebuild

We either port your existing design to the new platform or rebuild it. You see staging early and approve before data starts moving.

  4. Data migration with integrity checks

Products, customers, orders, and content move via scripts we have written and refined across migrations. Every batch is verified before the next runs.

  5. Cutover with redirects live

We cut over during a low-traffic window. The 301 redirects deploy at the same moment. We monitor live traffic, rankings, and orders in real time.

  6. Post-launch monitoring and care

Two weeks of close monitoring, plus a 30 and 90 day check on SEO and conversion. Optional care plan for ongoing work on the new platform.

Case study

Confidential apparel brand

Problem
An established apparel brand on a heavily customized WooCommerce site needed to move to Shopify. Years of product history, customer accounts, and SEO equity were at risk. A previous migration attempt had stalled and broken redirects.
What we built
We audited the existing setup, built a clean data mapping plan, rebuilt the theme on Shopify, and migrated products, customers, and orders with integrity checks at every step. A complete 301 redirect map covered every indexed URL. Cutover happened during a low-traffic window with rollback ready.
Result
The brand cut over without losing rankings or customer accounts. Organic traffic held stable through the transition and the new platform unblocked the team to ship features that had been waiting for months.

Why us

What you get with WitsCode that you don't get elsewhere.

  • We have done this enough times to know what breaks

Customer password hashes, redirect edge cases, image URL handling, product variant parity, third party app gaps. We have hit the failure modes and we plan around them upfront.

  • SEO is not an afterthought

We baseline rankings before cutover, build a full 301 map, preserve structured data, and monitor for traffic dips post-launch. Migrations done wrong destroy SEO. We do them right.

  • Rollback ready, always

Every cutover has a documented rollback plan. We do not gamble with your live revenue. If something goes wrong, we can revert without losing orders or data.

WitsCode rebuilt our Shopify store so it finally converts the traffic we were already getting. They understand speed and storytelling in equal measure, and the store has been a real growth lever since launch.
