Marketplaces are the app stores inside other platforms, where apps, integrations and extensions reach that platform's users. A marketplace listing can bring installs and paying customers, because the people browsing it already use the platform.

The short answer
Which app marketplace should a SaaS list on?
The one whose users already use your integration: the Shopify App Store for ecommerce apps, the Slack Marketplace or Atlassian Marketplace for team tools, and the HubSpot App Marketplace or Salesforce AgentExchange for sales and marketing tools. Below are all 20, with approval difficulty, cost model and link type.
01Before you submit
Read this before you submit
When to use it: Once your product integrates with the platform. Open the partner or developer account early, because several of these need one before you can submit.

How to work this list
Do first
01The marketplace your integration already runs on. It is the listing here most likely to bring installs.
02Zapier App Directory: build the integration on Zapier's developer platform and publish it. Listing is free.
03Slack Marketplace: submit through Slack's developer docs. The developer website link was followed in our check.
04Atlassian Marketplace: sign up as a partner, then publish the Jira or Confluence app from your Marketplace profile.
05Chrome Web Store: if part of the product works as a browser extension, publish it after the one-time registration.
Skip or defer
AWS Marketplace and Microsoft Marketplace until you sell to enterprise buyers. Both rate Hard on approval.
Apple App Store and Google Play Store unless you ship a native app.
Figma Community and Canva Apps Marketplace unless you build a plugin or app for that tool.
Pabbly Connect Integrations: we found no public partner or submit page.
AppSumo unless you want to sell a deal on a revenue share you negotiate.
How to write the listing here
Write the listing for someone who already uses the host platform. Say what the integration does inside their tool in one line, then show the setup steps with screenshots taken inside the host platform. State what data the app accesses, and link your support and privacy pages.
When in the sequence
Open the partner account at T-30 to T-22 and submit the listing at T-21 to T-15, so review can finish around launch. List on the rest after launch, as each integration ships.
A store inside another platform where its users find and install apps, integrations and extensions. The Shopify App Store, the Slack Marketplace, the Atlassian Marketplace and the Chrome Web Store are examples. Each runs its own submission process.
A directory lists your product so people can find it. A marketplace puts it inside a platform its users already work in, where they can install it. If you have an integration, do the marketplace first and the directories after launch.
The ones where your integration lives. Shopify, Slack, Zapier, HubSpot, Atlassian and the Chrome Web Store are the six we point founders to; start the partner account a month before launch, and pick the ones that match what you built. Of the 20 marketplaces on this page, 13 gave a followed link in our check, 4 were nofollow, 2 had no crawlable link and 1 is not checked yet.
For the big ones, yes. Shopify uses the Partner Dashboard, Microsoft uses Partner Center, Salesforce uses the Partner Community, Atlassian asks for partner signup and AWS asks you to register as a seller. The Chrome Web Store needs a developer account with a one-time registration fee.
